Autumn's Vanguard

Everyone's heard that a picture is worth 1,000 words. Well, I thought it would be fun to every so often take a picture and write it's very own 100 word story.  So  here goes...
Though September is still a few days more and the harvest moon still waits to fly, a lonesome crimson leaf awaits in early August morning dew. Sometime in the deep of night, it trembled and shook itself from its parent branch, dancing with the winds to the grass still green below. Now in solitude it waits in heavy anticipation of things as of yet in store. For though as yet a small and lonely vanguard, soon its former friends will fill the sky with their bold and brazen fire and announce that summer’s delights have given way to autumn revelries.
