Teaser Tuesday: A Brilliant Solution

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser: "[George Washington] served, he said, because it was his duty and, therefore, he could not accept any payment for his services. Though his language was stilted, his meaning was clear, "I...must accordingly pray that the pecuniary estimates for the station in which I am placed may during my continuance in it be limited to such actual expenditures as the public good may be thought to require." pg. 203 of A Brilliant Solution: Inventing the American Constitution by Carol Berkin
